Getting started
How long does setup take?
Most businesses are live within an hour: sign up, add a few services, add people and their weekly hours, then share your link.
Do my customers need an account?
No. They choose a service and a time, give their details and are booked. They get a private link to manage the booking.
Can I try it without committing?
Yes. It is free during early access, with no credit card, and you can delete your account at any time.
Can I have more than one location?
Not yet. Each business has one set of resources and hours. Multi-location support is not available today.
Scheduling
How does it avoid double-booking?
Availability is calculated from staff, equipment, hours and buffers, and a database rule independently prevents two overlapping holds on the same resource, even if two customers click at the same moment.
Can a service need more than one resource?
Yes. For example a mechanic and a service bay together. Only times when everything required is free are offered.
Does it handle time zones and daylight saving?
Yes. Everything is evaluated in your business time zone, including the days the clocks change.
Can customers cancel or reschedule?
Yes, from a private link in their confirmation, until the cut-off you set (24 hours by default). After that they are asked to contact you.
Can I block out holidays or time off?
A time-off editor is on the roadmap. For now, adjust weekly hours or pause a resource.
Payments
How do deposits work?
You connect your own Stripe account. When a service has a deposit, the customer pays it right after booking and the money goes to your account.
Do you take a cut?
No. Only Stripe’s standard processing fees apply, charged by Stripe.
What happens to the deposit if a customer cancels?
A cancellation within your policy window refunds the deposit automatically. Cancelling late is not possible online, so you can handle it as you see fit.
Your brand, your data
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Add the domain in settings, create a TXT and a CNAME record, and verify. Until then your page lives on a free booking link.
Do you use cookies or analytics?
Not for your customers: no cookies, no analytics, no ad trackers. Signed-in staff get one essential session cookie. If you take deposits, Stripe’s payment form may use its own cookies.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. Owners can download all business data, export or erase any customer, and permanently delete the account. Customers can export or erase their own data from their booking link.
Who owns the customer data?
You do. You are the controller of your customers’ data and BookingPortal processes it on your behalf. See the privacy policy for details.
The product
Does it sync with Google or Apple Calendar?
Not yet.
Does it integrate with my shop-management or accounting software?
Not yet. You can export your data as JSON.
Who makes BookingPortal?
BookingPortal is a lemonade.lifestyle product.
Is there a mobile app?
The booking page and dashboard are responsive web apps that work on phones. There is no separate app.
